Brockley has become one of the most sought after areas in south London over the past decade and it is easy to see why. The Overground station makes Zone 2 living practical, the streets are lined with Victorian terraces that have been snapped up by young professionals, and there is a genuine neighbourhood feel with local coffee shops and micro-pubs that have popped up along Brockley Road and nearby streets. It still has some rougher pockets and the social housing estates remind you this is still working class London underneath the gentrification, but overall the balance is appealing.
