Furze Platt sits north of the town centre around the area's own little rail halt on the Marlow branch line. The housing is mainly 1930s semis and some postwar development, with a few older properties closer to the recreation ground. Furze Platt Road has a small parade of shops. The senior school is the main landmark. It is a notch more affordable than Boyn Hill or Pinkneys Green, and the feel is solidly suburban. The recreation ground and allotments give it a bit of green space. Families and older residents make up much of the community.
