Pinkneys Green is the quietly affluent area north of the town centre, with National Trust common land at its heart. The Green is a proper open space with cricket in summer and muddy dog walks in winter. The housing around it is mostly large detached properties, many hidden behind hedges on winding lanes. It feels distinctly rural and separate from the town, even though the station is only a mile or so away. The Robin Hood pub on the green is a local institution. This is stockbroker belt Maidenhead, where the money is but where nobody is showing off about it.
