Milton & Waterbeach

Milton is a compact village squeezed between the A14 and the A10, close enough to Cambridge Science Park that some people walk to work. It has a country park, a Tesco, and not much else in the way of a high street. Waterbeach is a couple of miles further north and has more of a village centre with a pub, a primary school, and a recreation ground. The big story here is Waterbeach New Town, a massive development on the old barracks site that will eventually double the population. Waterbeach station gives you a slow train into Cambridge or a longer connection to London via Ely. The area attracts young families and science park workers who are priced out of Cambridge itself.
