Newbury Greenham

Most people over 40 know Greenham from the Common and the peace camps at the old US Air Force base. The base is long gone, replaced by a business park and some housing. Greenham Common itself is now open heathland managed as a nature reserve, and it is a genuinely impressive piece of open space. The residential parts are a mix of older housing and newer development around the edges. The business park has brought jobs and traffic. It is not the prettiest part of Newbury but the access to the Common is a real selling point if you like being outdoors.
