Forest Gate North

Forest Gate has had a genuine shift in the last few years. The Elizabeth line put it on the map for people who would never have looked at Newham before. The north side runs up towards Wanstead Flats, which gives it an unexpected amount of green space and a slightly more suburban feel. Victorian terraces, many still as whole houses rather than converted flats. Woodgrange Road has independent cafes, a deli, and some decent restaurants now. It is probably the part of Newham that most resembles what happened to Walthamstow ten years ago.
