Royal Albert

Named after the Royal Albert Dock, this area covers the waterside stretch between Beckton and the ExCeL centre. The dock itself is an impressive body of water and the University of East London campus sits here. London City Airport is right next door, which means noise but also a certain energy. New developments are going up but it still feels empty in places, especially on evenings and weekends. The DLR and Elizabeth line at Custom House provide the links. It is a bet on the future more than a finished neighbourhood.
