Oxted South

South of the railway line is where the main shopping parade sits, along Station Road East and West. There is a Waitrose, a good butcher, a few cafes, and the kind of independent shops you get in Surrey commuter towns. The Everyman cinema is a recent addition. Residential streets are mostly 1920s to 1950s semis and detached houses, comfortable and well kept. It feels like a proper small town rather than a village. The Master Park recreation ground gives families some green space. This is the functional heart of Oxted.
