BN24 6
Pevensey Bay is a shingle beach settlement strung along the coast road between Eastbourne and Bexhill. It has a slightly faded seaside feel, with a row of bungalows and chalets backing onto the beach. There is a small parade of shops, a pub, and a Martello tower. The beach is pebbly and exposed, not the bucket-and-spade type. Housing is mostly bungalows and some 1950s-60s houses, reasonably affordable compared to Eastbourne next door. Pevensey Bay station gives you a slow train to Eastbourne in a few minutes. It is the sort of place retired couples and downsizers end up, not somewhere young families tend to gravitate toward.
