Hainault is at the end of the Central line loop and borders Hainault Forest, which is part of the ancient Forest of Essex and genuinely impressive for walking, cycling, and letting kids run around. The Hainault estate was built in the late 1940s and 50s to house families after the war. A lot of it has been bought through Right to Buy and is now privately owned. The forest is the main attraction and families who know it tend to love it. Hainault station is the terminus, so you always get a seat in the morning. The local shopping parade on New North Road covers basics.
