East Sheen is the practical end of the Barnes/Mortlake stretch. The Upper Richmond Road has a solid run of shops, restaurants, and cafes. It's not glamorous but it covers everything you need day to day. Richmond Park is walkable from most of the area, which is a huge plus. Trains from Mortlake station to Waterloo take about 20 minutes. Housing is mostly Edwardian terraces and 1930s semis, with some larger houses on the roads backing onto the park. Families dominate. It's quieter and a bit more affordable than Barnes, though still firmly expensive by any normal measure.
