Chorleywood is one of those Met line villages that genuinely still feels like a village. The common is huge and beautiful, proper ancient woodland and open grassland. Houses around the common and up toward the top of the hill are large and expensive, mostly detached. Sarratt is a separate village further out, even more rural, with a proper village green and not much else. The kind of place where people drive to the station. Chorleywood station itself is well used, and the village centre has a few useful shops and a decent cafe or two, though you will end up driving to Watford or Rickmansworth for a proper shop.
