Sawston is a large village that functions almost as a small town. It has a decent range of shops along the high street, a Tesco, a couple of takeaways, and the basics you need day to day. Sawston Village College is the local secondary and has a good reputation. Housing is a mix of older village properties around the centre and plenty of post-war estates and newer builds spreading outward. It is not as pretty as Shelford or as characterful as Linton, but it is practical and more affordable than its neighbours. The A1301 runs through, giving direct road access into Cambridge. Families are the core demographic here.
