This is the centre of Sevenoaks, and the high street is genuinely good. Waitrose, a proper butcher, independent coffee shops, and a few decent restaurants alongside the usual chains. St John's is the area around the church at the southern end, with some handsome Victorian and Edwardian houses. The station is a 10 minute walk downhill from the high street, fast trains to London Bridge. The Stag Theatre brings in a decent cultural programme for a town this size. Knole Park's main entrance is at the top of the high street, which on a sunny weekend makes the whole place feel like it has its own country estate.
