The eastern end of Sheppey is dominated by holiday parks, caravan sites, and the eroding clay cliffs at Warden Point. Leysdown-on-Sea is the main settlement, a small seaside strip that comes alive in summer and goes very quiet in winter. Some of the holiday homes have become permanent residences. It is remote by Kent standards, with no rail connection and limited bus services. The landscape is flat, windswept, and atmospheric if you like that sort of thing.
