Thatcham Central

The older part of Thatcham around the Broadway and the High Street. There is a small Waitrose, a few takeaways, charity shops, and not much else. The station is here, which is the main selling point for commuters. Housing is a real mix, from some older Victorian and Edwardian cottages near the church to 1960s-70s infill. The canal towpath runs close by and is good for a flat walk or cycle into Newbury. It feels like a town that has grown around it rather than a place with a strong identity of its own.
