E14 0 / E14 6 / E3 3
Named after George Lansbury, the Labour politician who represented Poplar. This is the area around Chrisp Street Market, which was Britain's first purpose-built pedestrianised shopping precinct in the 1951 Festival of Britain. The market has been through a major regeneration and the area around it is changing with new housing. It is still largely a working-class area with significant council housing. The DLR stations at Langdon Park and All Saints are the main connections. Chrisp Street gives it more of a centre than most parts of Poplar have.
