High Brooms is the working-class end of Tunbridge Wells and has always been. Victorian terraces built for railway workers line the streets around the station. High Brooms station itself is useful, with trains into London Bridge separate from the main Tunbridge Wells station, and sometimes less crowded. There's a small parade of shops and a strong local community. It's noticeably more affordable than the rest of town. The brickworks heritage gives it a distinct identity that the newer estates around the edges haven't diluted.
