St John's

St John's is on the south-western side of town, named after the church. It's a residential area of mainly Victorian and Edwardian houses, some quite large, on the slopes above the town centre. The roads towards Groombridge and Langton Green pass through here. It has a quiet, established feel without being showy. The proximity to the Common and the walks around Broadwater Down make it appealing to families and dog walkers.
