Wadhurst village has a genuine centre with independent shops, a butcher, cafes, and The Greyhound pub on the high street. The church of St Peter and St Paul sits up on the hill and the village clusters around it. Frant is smaller and quieter, a couple of miles west towards Tunbridge Wells, with a village green and The Abergavenny Arms. Both have a solidly comfortable feel. Period cottages, tile-hung houses, and some larger detached places on the lanes out of the villages. Wadhurst station is the key asset for commuters, Hastings line into Charing Cross and London Bridge. Frant has its own station too, which is even quicker into London.
