Waltham Cross

The town centre area around the Eleanor Cross monument and the Pavilions shopping centre. Housing is a mix of Victorian terraces, interwar semis, and council-built estates, with some newer developments creeping in. The high street is functional rather than appealing, mostly chains, pound shops, and takeaways. Waltham Cross station gives you trains into Liverpool Street in about 25 minutes, and Theobalds Grove is also walkable from parts of the area. The Lee Valley Regional Park is right on the eastern edge, which is the main green asset. The area has a diverse, working-class feel and higher footfall means it can feel more hard-worn compared to quieter parts of Broxbourne.
