Walthamstow High Street

This is the heart of Walthamstow, centred on the high street and Europe's longest daily outdoor market. The market sells everything from fruit and veg to fabric and household goods, and it is genuinely busy most days. Housing is a mix of Victorian terraces and some council blocks. It is noisy, diverse, and full of life. The high street itself is not pretty, but it is useful, and Walthamstow Central gives you the Victoria line into town in about 15 minutes.
