Furzedown

Furzedown is a proper residential area between Tooting and Streatham. Wide streets with 1930s semis and some Victorian terraces. Tooting Bec Common and Furzedown Recreation Ground provide good green space. It has a community feel that some of the higher-turnover parts of Wandsworth lack, partly because the houses are big enough for families to stay in. Less fashionable than Balham but more affordable, and the schools have a solid reputation. Tooting Broadway tube is a walk or bus ride away.
