Warlingham

Warlingham village centres on the Green, with a small parade of shops, a couple of pubs, and a church. It feels like a proper Surrey village that happens to have a bus route to Croydon. Housing is mostly 1930s and postwar semis and detached houses on quiet residential roads. Upper Warlingham station is a walk or short drive away for Southern services into London Bridge and Victoria. Families like it for the village primary school, the green surroundings, and the fact that kids can grow up with a bit of space. The trade-off is that you need a car for almost everything beyond the basics.
