Haldens is on the eastern side of WGC, one of the later additions built from the 1960s and 70s. The housing is a mix of council-built stock and some later private development. It has a local shopping parade and a community centre. Less leafy than the original garden city streets to the west, and the architecture is more utilitarian. It is affordable by WGC standards and has a settled community, but it does not have the same charm as Handside or Sherrards.
