Panshanger is on the eastern edge of WGC, built from the 1960s onwards as a large housing estate. It has its own schools, shops, and community facilities, and feels quite self-contained. Panshanger Park (the former estate grounds) is a major green space on the doorstep, with woodland walks and open meadows. The housing is typical of its era, nothing special architecturally, but the access to green space is genuinely good. It has historically had a harder reputation than the western side of WGC, though this is overstated. Affordable and practical.
