Maida Vale is a wide, tree-lined residential avenue with large Edwardian mansion blocks either side. The BBC Studios at Maida Vale (now relocated) were here for decades. It's quiet, prosperous, and has a settled feel. Maida Vale tube (Bakerloo) is on the main road. The shops are limited to a few delis and cafes near the station, so you tend to drift to St John's Wood or Kilburn for anything substantial. The flats in the mansion blocks are spacious by London standards and popular with professionals and families. It lacks the pizzazz of neighbouring areas but that's part of its appeal.
