Kingswood is the wealthy end of this stretch of Surrey. The roads around the Warren and Kingswood estate have large detached houses set back behind hedges and gates, some of them genuinely grand. The area was developed as a private estate in the early 1900s and still has that exclusive, leafy character. Kingswood station (on the Tattenham Corner branch) is tiny and services are infrequent. Most people drive. There are no shops to speak of locally. It is very quiet, very green, and very private. If you want to walk to anything, this is not the place.
