A 1950s council estate built on the south side of the A13, one of the more isolated parts of the borough. Despite the name, most of it does not have Thames views. The Ripple Nature Reserve is close by and gives some green relief. It is cut off from Barking town centre by the A13 and the road layout makes it feel like a separate community. Housing is basic post-war stock. It is cheap, but the isolation and lack of local amenities are real trade-offs.
