Northill

Northill is a proper rural parish a few miles west of Biggleswade, centred on the village of Northill itself with the hamlets of Ickwell and Upper Caldecote nearby. Ickwell Green is genuinely picturesque, with a maypole on the village green and a cricket pitch. This is deep countryside Bedfordshire. You need a car for everything, and the nearest station is Biggleswade. Housing is a mix of older cottages and some more modern infill. It is quiet and community-oriented, the kind of place where the village fete still matters.
