Boreham

Boreham is a village strung along the old main road between Chelmsford and Witham, with the A12 now bypassing it to the south. There's a village hall, a church, the Lion Inn, and a primary school, but not much in the way of shops. Beaulieu Park station opened nearby in 2023 and gives a direct line into London, which has changed the equation for commuters. The village itself is mostly older houses and some newer developments creeping in from the Chelmsford side. New Hall School, the large independent, sits just outside the village in its own grounds. It still feels like a separate place from Chelmsford rather than a suburb, though the gap is narrowing with the Beaulieu development pushing east.
