Whitehawk & Marina

Whitehawk is Brighton's most deprived estate, spread across a valley east of the racecourse. It has had serious investment in recent years and the community spirit is genuine, but it still faces real challenges around poverty and antisocial behaviour. The views from the top of the hill are spectacular. Brighton Marina below is a different world entirely: a retail park, a cinema, chain restaurants, and a lot of new-build flats in varying states of repair. The two sit side by side but have almost nothing in common.
