Chatham (Luton)

A distinct residential neighbourhood on the eastern side of Chatham built mainly between the wars. Luton has its own small local centre with a parade of shops serving everyday needs, and it feels more self-contained than areas closer to the town centre. Housing is predominantly semis and terraces on quiet roads. Families are drawn here by relatively affordable prices and reasonable school options, though it lacks the village character you find in older Kent parishes. It is a solid, unglamorous place to put down roots.
