This is the absolute centre of the financial City. The Bank of England, the Royal Exchange, Mansion House, and the convergence of eight streets at Bank junction. Almost nobody lives here. It's office towers, banking headquarters, and the kind of sandwich shops that are packed at lunchtime and shuttered by 4pm. Bank tube station is a labyrinth connecting the Central, Northern, Waterloo & City, and DLR lines. Leadenhall Market, tucked behind Gracechurch Street, is beautiful and worth a visit. On Sundays you could stand in the middle of Threadneedle Street and hear nothing.
