Bedford Park

Bedford Park is often called the first garden suburb in the world, laid out in the 1870s with Arts and Crafts houses by Norman Shaw and others. The streets have a distinctive look: red brick, Dutch gables, white woodwork, mature trees. It straddles the Ealing/Hounslow border but the heart of it is around The Tabard pub and St Michael and All Angels church. Turnham Green tube is the nearest station (District and Piccadilly lines). It's quiet, leafy, and conservation-area protected, which keeps it looking the way it has for 150 years. Families with money who want character rather than a new build.
