Egham Town

Egham's high street has the usual mix of chains, takeaways, and a few independent shops. It's not a destination but it covers the basics. The station is on the Waterloo line via Staines, about 40 minutes door to door. Housing around the centre is a mix of period terraces, 1930s semis, and some newer flats. Royal Holloway students add footfall to the pubs and cafes. The Runnymede meadows and the river are walkable, which lifts the whole area. Families settle here because it's more affordable than the Englefield Green or Virginia Water side while still being in the same school catchments.
