Three villages grouped into one ward, each with a different feel. Farningham is the prettiest, clustered around the Lion Hotel and the river crossing on the old London to Maidstone road. Horton Kirby is quieter and more tucked away along the Darent, with a cricket ground and not much else. South Darenth sits closest to the A225 and has more of a workaday feel with some light industrial along the river. The M20 junction at Farningham is handy if you drive, and Eynsford station is the nearest rail option. Housing is mostly detached and semi-detached, owner-occupied, with nothing flash but solidly comfortable. You need a car for daily life here.
