Sutton-at-Hone is a proper village with a long history, centred around St John's church and the River Darent. The high street is small but there is a pub, a village hall, and enough to make it feel like a place rather than a housing estate. The housing is a mix of older cottages, 1930s semis, and some newer builds on the edges. Farningham Road station is nearby but it is a long walk from the village centre and services are not frequent. People move here because they want a village feel within commuting distance of London, and you do get that. Sutton at Hone Primary is the local school and it is popular.
