Upper Thames Villages

Scattered villages in the flat Thames valley floor between Faringdon and Abingdon. This is quiet, agricultural countryside with small settlements, some of them very pretty in Cotswold stone. Buckland is one of the more recognisable villages. You are reliant on a car and looking at Faringdon or Abingdon for shops, schools, and services. Floods can be a concern in the lower-lying areas near the river.
