Denton sits southeast of the town centre along the A226 towards Chalk. It is mostly post-war housing, a lot of it council-built, with some newer infill. Denton has its own small community feel with a church and a few local facilities. It is not the most attractive part of Gravesend but it is quiet and has reasonable access to the town centre on foot or by bus.
