Charlton Village

Charlton Village is a genuine surprise. The streets around St Luke's church and the old village green feel like a different world from the rest of Charlton. Handsome Georgian and Victorian houses, a proper village pub (the Bugle Horn), and Charlton House, a Jacobean manor that's now a community centre and library. The Thames Path runs along the riverside. It's a pocket of character that most people driving through Charlton would never know existed.
