Castle

Castle ward is the heart of Guildford, covering the High Street, the castle grounds, and the streets around the town centre. The cobbled high street is one of the best preserved in Surrey, with independent shops alongside the usual chains. The castle ruins and surrounding gardens are the centrepiece. Housing here is a mix of period townhouses, flats above shops, and some newer development around the river. It's where the restaurants, bars and cultural stuff is. Living here means walking distance to everything, but you're paying a premium for a central Surrey address and parking is a nightmare.
