Onslow Village was built in the 1920s as a planned community with Garden City principles, and it still feels like it. Wide, tree-lined roads, houses with good-sized gardens, a village hall, allotments, and a recreation ground. The University of Surrey campus borders it to the east, which brings some student presence. There's a small parade of shops on the Parade including a Co-op. It's walkable to the station and town centre. The housing is distinctive, Arts and Crafts influenced, and the whole place has a community feel that most suburbs struggle to create. Very popular with families and university staff.
