London Fields is Hackney's most gentrified neighbourhood and the one that defines the borough's transformation. Broadway Market on Saturdays is rammed with sourdough, vintage clothes, and flat whites. The Lido is an unheated outdoor pool that has a devoted following. The park itself is flat and open, packed on summer evenings with barbecues and sound systems. The surrounding streets have beautiful Victorian terraces, now among the most expensive in the borough. Pubs like the Cat and Mutton and the Pub on the Park are institutions. London Fields Overground gives you a quick run into Liverpool Street. It's the cliche of gentrified Hackney for a reason, but the energy is genuine.
