Shoreditch is where City money meets east London creativity, and the result is expensive cocktail bars in former warehouses. Brick Lane, Spitalfields Market, Boxpark, and Columbia Road flower market on Sundays are all within walking distance. Shoreditch High Street Overground station put it on the rail map. The actual residential population is smaller than you'd think, with much of the area given over to offices, hotels, and nightlife. Council estates like the Boundary Estate are architecturally significant and still home to established communities. Old Street tube at the southern end gives you the Northern line. The area runs all night at weekends and isn't for anyone who values quiet.
