South Hackney

South Hackney covers the residential streets between Victoria Park and Mare Street. Well Lane and the streets around it have quietly become very popular with families. Victoria Park is the big draw, one of east London's best green spaces with a proper playground, a lake, and the weekend food market. The housing is Victorian terraces, mostly well kept, with some council estates mixed in. It's less showy than London Fields to the north but arguably a better place to actually live day to day. Cambridge Heath station on the Overground connects to Liverpool Street.
