Girton

Girton is the closest village to Cambridge in this group, practically touching the city's northwest edge. The college gives it name recognition, though the village and the college don't overlap much in daily life. There's a small parade of shops, a recreation ground, and a couple of pubs. Housing is a mix of older village properties near the centre and postwar estates. The A14 runs close by, which can mean traffic noise on the western side.
