Histon & Impington

Histon and Impington are effectively one place, two parishes. The High Street has a strong run of local shops, a well-regarded butcher, cafes, and several pubs including the Red Lion. The Guided Busway stop makes commuting into Cambridge genuinely painless. The old Chivers jam factory site has been redeveloped but the village remembers its industrial past. Housing ranges from period cottages along the High Street to larger estates built over the last few decades. The village green and recreation ground are well used. It feels like a proper community, with an active village society, summer fairs, and a strong primary school. One of the most complete villages in the Cambridge orbit.
