Hoddesdon Town and Rye Park

The town centre and Rye Park to the east. The high street along the old coaching road still has a decent mix of independents, charity shops, cafes, and a Tesco Metro. The clock tower is the landmark. Rye Park sits between the town and the River Lea, a residential area that's more modest, with a mix of older terraces and some council-built housing. Rye House station is on the doorstep for Rye Park residents, a smaller station but still on the Liverpool Street line. The Rye House pub and the nearby RSPB reserve at Rye Meads make the eastern side feel surprisingly rural once you cross the river.
