Joyden's Wood is really named after the ancient woodland rather than any settlement. The residential streets sit in a pocket between Wilmington, Old Bexley, and Swanley, straddling the Dartford and Bexley border. Housing is mostly 1960s and 70s detached and semi-detached properties on quiet, winding roads with mature gardens. The wood itself is a proper ancient woodland managed by the Woodland Trust, with bluebells in spring and good walking trails. There is no station, no shops, and no high street. You need a car for everything. Swanley or Albany Park stations are the nearest rail links. It is the kind of place people choose specifically because they want space and trees, and are happy to drive for a pint of milk.
